I would suggest not the type of music you would normally associate with the Virgin label, there is no doubting the quality of both the music and vocalist. A 3 piece band(with help), they produced a fine sounding LP. Described as ‘acid’ or ‘contemporary’ jazz I’ll leave it to the experts to argue the differences. But there is certainly a pop element to this underpinned by the jazz components.
It plays really well and with a bonus 12” single it represents good value for money and should be a worth addition to any collection. Great vocals from Juliet Roberts. You may not mainstream on acid jazz but if you want to broaden your horizons in that direction, this isn’t a bad starting point….
