BRIEF SUMMARY

Peter Bellamy and Louis Killen were recorded live at the Folk Studio in Norwich in 1972 before an invited audience. Peter was an English folk singer who was a founder of ‘The Young Tradition’, but also had an illustrious solo career (this was his 6th album mainly credited to him). There is also a rare performance from Louis Killen (a member of the renowned Clancy Brothers, playing tin whistle) on this album.

The album is a time capsule of 70’s English folk singing, with 10 traditional tracks and 2 Bellamy original compositions. Bellamy is joined by Killen on three tracks and on five tracks by the very enthusiastic audience. The traditional songs recorded here were all staples of Bellamy’s repertoire.

Won’t You Go My Way is not just an album for the Bellamy completest, it can be appreciated and enjoyed by anybody who has ears to hear. As the man said; listen without prejudice.
