Unfortunately, as this album is sealed, I obviously haven’t been able to listen to it. However, what I do know is that the Hot Vultures were Ian A Anderson and Maggie Holland. They were accompanied on this album by Pete and Chris Coe and Martin Simpson. Up the line was their 3rd album and received very positive critical acclaim. The Hot Vultures tended to mix up American roots music from the 20’s and 30’s (early blues, pre-country, old time music) with UK traditional music, acoustic R&B and a few originals. They tended to play their acoustic music loud and fast. They were regular performers at college gigs in the 70’s and played early Cambridge Folk Festivals and even had a following from followers of the early punk scene in the mid 70’s – bizarre! Highly rated by the discographer Martin C Strong.
