The cover is excellent, which is clearly signed ‘with thanks and best wishes – Jancis Harvey’. The labels are perfect and the vinyl has a lovely sheen although there is some background crackle at times.

This was Jancis’s debut album and probably the best she released. It features a mixture of her own compositions and covers such as ‘Morning has broken’, ‘I am a rock’ and ‘Gordon Lightfoot’s ‘Home from the forest’. Jancis has been compared with Anne Briggs, Bridget St John and Sandy Denny, but with a religious focus to her songs. This album is thought of as a masterpiece of the UK Folk/Xian style. The stand out tracks have to be the title track with some delightful guitar supporting her gorgeous vocals telling a delightful story, the powerful ‘Jesus knows’ and her superb version of ‘Morning has broken’. Note should also be taken of one of the first environmental songs in ‘City song’ which is very thought provoking. Great album that you don’t come across very often.
