The cover is in great condition with a little edge rubbing the only thing stopping an ‘Excellent’ grading. The labels and vinyl are simply great, however there a couple of minor clicks on Side 1 and if you listen really really carefully, there is a faint background crackle on the first couple of tracks of Side 2. Great copy of this rare and forgotten album. Great listen.

The Famous Jug Band’s second album, ‘Chameleon’ was composed mainly by Pete Berryman. Their sound was simply 3 voices, a guitar and a jug (with occasional percussion and electric guitar) and it actually works rather well. The title track is part of a medley that runs into Michael Chapman’s ‘Rabbit hills’ and finishes the album superbly. Golden years is a stand out track with a series of time changes that are more complex than the other tracks. Jill Johnson’s vocals are great and the harmonies are right on the money.
