I don’t know the history of this LP but the vinyl is in such excellent condition that it hardly looks played. It looks as good as it sounds… The cover is in perfect condition

Well if you wish to ‘discover’ Tim Buckley there is a lot of music here for your buck. Covering songs from his three earlier LP’s, plus 6 unreleased songs at the time, nor ever recorded anywhere else, this journey will grab your attention right from the introduction by Pete Drummond which precedes Track 1. The highlight for me on Side 1 is Morning Glory, coming from his second LP a year or so earlier. Just a beautiful song from start to finish.

But there are many highlights and it’s down to you to choose your own. You do have to listen to it though. His vocals draw you in, mesmerising the listener to put down what they are doing, and simply appreciate the range, variation and beauty that stands out from each track. You can’t, you shouldn’t, be making the tea whilst this is playing. Put something else on and leave this gem until you are curled up with a glass of something.

Witness the juxtaposition of ‘The earth is broke’ with that of ‘Who do you love’. You can almost, amidst the applause, hear the crowd exhale as one at the end of ‘Who do you love’ as if they had been holding their breath throughout the opener.

It’s a wonderful journey through the early years of Buckley’s career and one well worth investigating. Oh, and the vinyl is in outstanding condition which adds to the pleasure.
